Weight Management

Weight Management

Our weight management service is built on rigorous clinical standards, patient safety, and a commitment to evidence-based care. We provide a structured, supervised approach for individuals seeking professional support in managing their weight and improving their overall wellbeing.

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation, where a qualified clinician assess your medical history, lifestyle factors, and health goals. Based on this assessment, we create a personalised plan that may include nutritional guidance, behavioural strategies, and—where clinically appropriate—a discussion of treatment options such as GLP-1–based therapies. These medications are only considered when medically indicated and are prescribed solely at a clinician’s discretion.

Our service begins with a face-to-face consultation with our experienced prescribing clinician, ensuring your journey is guided by expertise from the very first step.

During this initial assessment, we carefully measure your waist circumference and BMI, while conducting a thorough review of your medical history and current medications. This allows us to gain a complete understanding of your health, ensuring both safety and suitability for treatment.

If you qualify, we then design a bespoke weight management plan, tailored exclusively to you. Your programme is crafted around your personal weight loss goals—how much you wish to lose and how you wish to feel—because no two journeys are ever the same.

Your progress doesn’t go unnoticed. We provide monthly, in-person reviews, where the same measurements are repeated to track your results with accuracy and care. Throughout your journey, our team remains readily available to support you, address any concerns, and manage any side effects with compassion and professionalism.

WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS

You may be eligible for weight-loss medication if you meet certain medical criteria, usually based on your body mass index (BMI) and any weight-related health conditions. Each treatment has its own suitability requirements. Most options require a prescription, except alli, which can be purchased following a pharmacist or doctor assessment.

While taking any weight-loss medication, you’ll need to commit to a reduced-calorie diet and regular exercise for safe and effective results.

To help you throughout your treatment, our clinician will provide clear guidance on how to use your medication, how to minimise side effects, and how to build healthy habits. You can email or message us at any time if you have questions or need support.

Weight-loss injections

Weight-loss injections help reduce appetite by acting on the areas of the brain involved in hunger and fullness. Wegovy and Mounjaro are taken once weekly.

You may be eligible for treatment through our service if your BMI is:

  • 30 or above, or
  • 27 to 30 and you have a weight-related health concern (for example, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea)

It’s important to give your prescriber accurate and honest information about your health. Certain medications may not be suitable for everyone and can cause side effects, so a proper medical assessment helps ensure your safety.

Effectiveness in clinical studies

Mounjaro

People lost up to 22.5% of their starting weight on the 15 mg maintenance dose after 72 weeks

Wegovy

People lost up to 17% of their starting weight on the maintenance dose after 68 weeks

How These Treatments Work

Wegovy (semaglutide)

Wegovy belongs to a group of medicines known as GLP-1 receptor agonists. It works by mimicking a natural hormone that helps regulate appetite and digestion. By slowing stomach emptying and enhancing feelings of fullness, it can support reduced calorie intake when used alongside dietary and lifestyle changes.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide)

Mounjaro acts on two hormone pathways—GLP-1 and GIP receptors. These hormones play a role in appetite control, blood-sugar regulation and satiety. By targeting both pathways, the medication may help reduce hunger and improve metabolic regulation when combined with a structured nutrition and activity plan.

Dosing Information (General Overview)

Specific dosing will always be tailored and prescribed based on individual clinical need.

  • Wegovy is typically started at a low weekly dose and gradually increased over several months to help minimise side effects.

  • Mounjaro is also taken once weekly, with dose adjustments made in stages according to clinical response and tolerance.

Any dose changes must be supervised by a prescribing clinician.
